The Government of Pakistan has been providing free vaccination to Pakistani citizens since early 2021. To ensure that people who are fully vaccinated are able to acquire proof of COVID-19 vaccination, the Government of Pakistan through the National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) is offering immunization certificates.

In this article, we will explain the process for acquiring a COVID-19 vaccination certificate from NADRA.

Free Vaccination for People

Since February 2021, after offering vaccination for frontline healthcare workers, the Government of Pakistan began extending its support for the elderly in March, followed by vaccination for the entire adult population of Pakistan in different phases. Currently, anyone aged 5 years and above can get vaccinated by walking into a COVID-19 Vaccination Center along with their CNIC, Child Registration Certificate (CRC)/B-Form or passport. For more details see our guidelines on COVID-19 Vaccination for Pakistani Citizens.

Why Acquire a Vaccination Certificate?

Since the process for vaccination for Pakistani citizens is tracked via the numbers of their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs), citizens can easily acquire immunization certificates after partial or complete vaccination. Such as after receiving one or both jabs of the COVID-19 vaccine or in the case of single dose vaccines like CanSino or PakVac, after receiving the required single dose. These certificates can be used by travelers traveling overseas or within the country. Since some countries are only accepting people vaccinated with a certain brand such as Astra Zeneca or Pfizer, you can also request such a brand at the vaccination center if you need to travel to a country with such a restriction.

The COVID-19 vaccination certificate is now also mandatory for people traveling to famous tourist spots in Pakistan and at offices and establishments that have made it mandatory for the staff to be vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination.
